Summer Must Haves

Summer Must Haves

The weather is definitely getting HOT and it can be very hard for us Hijabis or anyone who likes to dress modestly to find clothes that properly cover our bodies. Well, I'm here to help and here's a list of SUMMER MUST HAVES, So check your closets and see what you're missing!

  • LOOSE, preferably cotton PANTS- Make sure they're lightweight as well. Look for light colors and definitely stay away from dark colors like BLACK!!! You will be very HOT!!!
  • LIGHT TUNICS to go with your pants. Look for a great pattern to suit your style. Tunics are a great item to have in your closet because they can easily be worn with pants and look very nice!!!
  • SANDALS especially GLADIATORS like the silver one. Sandals let the breeze into your feet and just look cute so make sure you get some. But please, make sure you wear the right type of sandals because everyone's feet are different. If you aren't comfortable with your feet, then stick with FLATS; they're cute and they hide your feet!
  • SKIRTS are perfect for those hot days. I would go more for pastel colors; just don't become the rainbow with your outfit. A classic pastel mix is one that incorporates neutral colors like a light lavender with light gray (it's always better than black).
  • MAXI DRESSES are always in for the summer season. They are very simple to wear because it's just one long dress and you can easily pair it with a light cardigan and you're ready to go! You can find inexpensive maxi dresses at stores like H&M, JC Penny, and Forever 21!
  • ACCESSORIES, ACCESSORIES, ACCESSORIES!!! NEED I SAY MORE!!!
-Don't be afraid to be bold with your accessories and add a little color! A perfect way to pull that off without looking like a clown is to wear a solid color like Gray or White and then add some color with your accessories! This includes big TOTE BAGS, BRACELETS, NECKLACES, EARRINGS, and SHADES to protect those eyes from the damaging rays of the sun, and they look cute!!!
  • HIJABS make the outfit and NO outfit is complete WITHOUT it!!! Stay away from dark and depressing colors. Instead, look for bright and floral designs. Also, make sure the Hijabs are light, so you can stay cool!
With these MUST HAVES, you'll be prepared the next time a hot day comes your way! A Muslim Fashionista is ALWAYS prepared and the summer months are no exception. So, let's get it right ladies. Don't be fooled into showing off your bodies because there's too much of that on TV and it's time we made a change. BEAUTY is the confidence you portray in your MODESTY!

SPRING TIME!

Purely Simple

SPRING IS HERE!!!That means it's time to say HELLO to a new wardrobe and GOODBYE to the long winter months. This look celebrates Spring by sticking with spring like colors. The skirt is very light and cute while the top shows that layering can still work in the spring season. The top is actually attached but if you go bargain shopping, don't hesitate to not look for separates because they can be cheaper and show your creative side! I can see something like this at H&M and Forever21. Here's an example of a cardigan similar to this one at Forever21 and it's just $29.00!!!

P.S-> Just make sure to cover up the neck area :D

Instead of wearing those heels, you can find cute slippers like gladiators and start walking on the beach. What a lovely day that would be!

Elegance

A Long dress is a great way to cover what is needed to be covered, just throw a cardigan on top and find your hijab to top it off. The first step to finding the perfect dress is find your unique style that fits you. Don't go crazy with the prints and matching everything. Try to mix and match and stay polished. I centered this look around this dress. The jewelry was kept classy, i didn't add a necklace because the dress is designed to look almost like you're wearing a necklace but you can add pearls if you like. This look is great for parties with friends, family gatherings, or shall I say an elegant party.
